A prompt is simply what you write or say to an AI to ask it something. It's your instruction, your question, your brief. The way you word your prompt dramatically changes the quality of the response. For example, asking "summarize this text" gives one result, but "summarize this text in 3 bullet points for a non-technical audience" gives a much better one. The art of crafting good prompts is called "prompt engineering."
